The Willow That Learned to Bend

A travelling samurai, carrying a sealed letter to his lord, pauses beside a willow-shaded river and meets a young woman drawing water. In the unhurried days that follow he discovers that his duty and his affection need not destroy one another, and that the willow, bending in the wind, loses nothing of itself.
